Hongik University Station sits right on the Airport Railroad (AREX), the line that connects Incheon and Gimpo airports to Hongdae. That makes it one of the most convenient places in Seoul to drop your bags — whether you’ve just landed and it’s too early to check in, or you’re squeezing in a few more hours in Hongdae before a late flight. Here’s how to store your luggage right by the AREX concourse.
- Closest storage is by Exits 3–4, on the Airport Railroad concourse.
- In-station card lockers, plus two more locker spots inside the Line 2 station.
- For oversized bags, three staffed counters: Jimcarry, Kplanz, TLUGGAGE.
- Open from early morning until around midnight.
Storage right by the Airport Railroad concourse
If you want the shortest walk from the train, look for storage near Exits 3 and 4, which connect underground to the Airport Railroad concourse.
In-station lockers sit along the corridor toward the Airport Railroad platforms, down the escalator. They’re card-operated and open from early morning until around midnight — ideal for a quick, no-fuss drop-off. See: Hongik Univ. Stn. Airport Railroad Lockers. On top of these, there are two more self-service locker spots inside the Line 2 station itself: TLUGGAGE Lockers and a second TLUGGAGE locker location.
If your bag won’t fit a locker, head for a staffed counter. In total there are three staffed counters at Hongik University Station: Jimcarry, which is connected to the Airport Railroad concourse, Kplanz, and TLUGGAGE.
Just landed and too early to check in?
Korean hotels usually don’t allow check-in until mid-afternoon. Instead of dragging your suitcase around, drop it in a locker near the station and explore Hongdae hands-free. Self-service lockers are the fastest option, and several around the station are open 24 hours — handy if you arrive on an early flight.
Late flight after checkout?
Check out, store your bags, and enjoy a few more hours in Hongdae’s cafes and shops. Pick everything up on your way back to the platform and ride the AREX straight to the airport. Just note the storage hours so you collect your bag in time.
Mind the hours
In-station lockers generally follow the station’s operating window — roughly from the first train in the early morning to the last one near midnight. Staffed counters keep their own set hours, and some will extend if you contact them. Always check the closing time before you store, especially for a late departure.
Storing a large suitcase
Self-service lockers only work if your bag fits, so 28-inch and larger cases are safer at a staffed counter, which accepts oversized luggage.
Traveling as a group or a large family on a weekend or during peak season, and worried about hunting for space? Consider Kplanz: you can reserve your storage in advance, the pricing is reasonable (not the very cheapest, but fair), and there’s a discount when you pre-book.
